ASTRO CPS R05.02.00 Out of Band?

Anyone had success getting R05.02.00 out of band to be able to program in frequencies below 450MHz into "S" split radios?

I can't figure it out, and I've used the Search feature.

Can anyone help?

So this applies to CPS R05.02.00 as well? Are the bandsplit tables in the same locations?

No, you need to do some detective work to find out exact locations of where the bandsplit is stored.

Use the base converter in hex workshop. Set it to Intel unsigned long.

If you are trying to make a 450-520 radio do ham then put in 450000000 and get the hex value (Its something like 87.....). Then convert 440000000 to hex. Search for the 450 hex value and replace it with the 440 hex value.

Save the file and run the program.

You will find that if you are trying to use a 450-520 XTS3000 in the ham band it wont work well at all. The Astro Saber's work much better on 440.

Do a search on the board for info on the problems with using a high split UHF XTS3000/3500 on UHF ham.

It's currently in the ham band, but I need to make some modifications. I've not noticed any problems.

I actually did that, I searched for 450000000 and changed it to 438000000 everywhere I found it, but I still got the error. Not sure what the deal is... I got an error while exiting Hex Workshop, perhaps it didn't make the change after all.

If I'm correct, the bytes have to be entered in reverse order, correct?

If you do find the right addresses in the CPS, let us know. I spent few weekend nights trying to get the right address to hack the CPS to take in 486MHz (for a R split radio) but no luck so far.
