CDM1250 Now powers up BUT.....

Post by jakecpunut »

Let me get a fresh start here, The CDM1250's i have been posting about that have no function, will not power up at all, I had asked the guy that does the bench work if he had tried power to pin 10 as i had read here on BatLabs and he said he had.. BUT he hadn't...
so here's the new info..
The CDM1250's that are dead, will not come on at all.. if you apply 12v to pin 10 or if you jumper pins 7 & 9, the radio WILL power up MOST OF THE TIME!! Sometimes it's very slow to power up... When you do get it to power up, sometimes the channels will not change, sometimes they will but there is a long delay.. also the radio will not read or write when we get it to power up using the pins to get it going.. nor will it accept firmware updates...
SOOOO, does this help ?? obviously it's not an internal fuse or bad component as we had orginally thought..
any help greatly appreciated!!

Yep, I just checked the schematic and it looks like the EEProm/controller is toast. The way the diagrams look, it will come on when power is applied to pin 10 but the EEProm/controller is still not running as it requires an output from it for the radio to boot properly. Depot/flat rate ahoy!
