MTS2000 serial number change?

My controller died in my MTS2000 so I swapped controllers with one from a parts unit to correct the problem, but I want the serial number from the old controller. How can I change the serial number in the parts radio controller without getting the tool proof error?

You probably can't. What is the firmware version of your current controller?
