spectra a5 control head dead

Post by fredv »

Greetings;
I have a dash mount 900 mhz spectra. The original control head does not funtion; I.E. does not power up the radio. However an identical control head works fine when I replace the original head.
How can I troubleshoot the original head and/or does anyone have any idea what parts may be bad?
Thanks for your help.

Hard to say Fred, without accually having the head in hand. Then you still need a service cable so you can get to both sides of the circuit board.

Most comon failures are the leaking capacitor dammage, folowed by the burned trace from too large a fuse in the IGN cable. Then maybe a bad contact on the switch pad.
