97 jeep console

Post by jmr3865 »

Ok, I am looking for a console that will fit in my 97 jeep grand cherokee. My issue is that I have a gear shift thingy there. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Ugh... good luck. The GCs are about impossible to mount stuff in, unless you get really creative. I've never seen anyone pull a real console off in one.

Having the floor shifter and e-brake handle in the factory console make anything aftermarket nearly impossible.

How much stuff do you plan on putting in your Jeep? I have a 97 GC Laredo that I did a pretty successful install in, but i don't know if it's even similar to the setup you're looking for.

Our fire chief insists on Jeeps (although his 06 one is a piece of crap and spends more time in the shop than on the road.
I rmember doing his 97 and what a pain. Ended up with pretty similar to IMBEJames with the W4.
For the new one I made them buy a W3 XTL5000.
Simple and quick to install.
One switch for the strobes in a blank on the dash and a siren switch the same wth a floor switch for the airhorn.
