Spare batteries for HT1550'S

Post by giguchan »

I'm looking for spare batteries, currently i use the "red Label" batteries. I'm wonder what would be a good choice for spares... I am using the stock charger. The Current batteries are 1500ma they have proven reliable.(radios are used in the low power setting for 80% of the time)I would like to have a battery ready for use when the red Labels are depleted. thanks.

Hello and thanks for the reply..
I have used multiplier batteries before.I know Moto batts are expensive.
But i prefer to stay with moto batteries. They just seem to last longer , hold up better, and just are milled better than aftermarket..
thanks Gig

In my experience, I've found they are.

They come with a longer warranty, capacity guarantees, and the charger takes care of conditioning etc automatically. IMPRES chargers will let you keep your spare batteries hot on the charger without worrying about cooking them, as you would with a conventional charger. Even if you replace the batteries every two years or so, over that amount of time for a couple of radios, they really don't cost all that much.

An agency I was a member of only used their portable radios every few weeks. Pre-IMPRES, dollarwise, they spent about four times more on conventional batteries than they now spend on IMPRES batteries because they kept frying batteries in the charger over the space of eighteen months.

Thank you.
I thought of them very briefly, but since i saw the cost i decided against them. You do make a good point as i dont really use my radios as much as some would. I take them to work and if i use them ok if not .. it's still ok. i already have 2 mobiles in the truck , so these are just incase i leave the truck and still need communications. The point is yes while you are right about leaving them in the charger till i need them,(which is what i would do)I do know that does shorten the life of any battery- cept the impress technology.. I will look further into them. thanks.
I guess this is an ebay item? or can i go to my Local 2 way shop and give them a part number? have you part number? or i can go to MOTO ONLINE
thanks..
