Help With Trikcy Minitor V Programming

Post by Vercomm »

Hey Guys,

I got a couple M5's in for a customer and was told by moto that I would have no problem programming these babies. Below is what I descried to moto and they said it would work, but I don't know how to make it work.

Our paging freq is 153.845. There are 2 departments that receive there pages on this freq.

The first department has a simple two-tone (A-B) that sets the pagers off, and the second department has a long single tone that sets their pagers off.

Here's what I'm wanting to do. We have Single channel NSV M5 pagers. We have the A_B_C_D switch on the top. Can someone help me to program the A_B_C_D switch to do the following:

A - Alert only on the A-B tone
B - Alert only on the single continuous tone
C - Alert for both A-B and Single Continuous
D - Monitor Channel

Any help would be much appreciated, I'm supposed to program these things on Saturday so and quick tips would be a huge help!!

Thanks,

Jamie

Unfortunately, you can't do what you want. The pager is configured with on/off duty... you could configure one tone to be "on duty" and the other to be "on/off duty". Essentially, you could select EITHER A or B, plus C and D.

Jamie,
If it's acceptable to your users, you might try using two different alert cadences, one for the two-tone call and a second for the long single tone call, and leave both set to on duty in the codeplug.

Is it a 2 freq pager? Do you need both freqs? If not, you could try putting the fsame freq in both channels with differnt tones in each of the channel spots.

it's only a 1 freq pager

I'm still having trouble. I programmed the pagers to alert for both tones, but would like to change it. I don't understand the on/off duty. I have the codeplug if anybody can help.
