ORDERING REQUIREMENTS
1. Order the MT 1500 Portable as the main line item.
2. A System Software Package (Q833) MUST be ordered for each radio unit ordered.
3. A charger does not ship standard with the radio. See Chargers in the accessory section.

OPERATING MODES
Capable of operation in voice communication modes:
• Conventional Software with MDC1200 (Q833)
Capable of 48 modes when the programmable Concentric Top Mounted Switch is used for Zone Operation. The mode
of operation is programmed on a channel-by-channel basis.
CHANNEL SPACING
There are no maximum frequency separation conditions that must be adhered to on the MT 1500
Portable Radio Series. Separation of frequencies can be as wide as the allowable sub-band per radio model with no
degradation of any performance specifications. If an incorrect antenna is used, degraded performance may be experienced.

Yo Billy, you dropped the cashola yet? If not, you may want to look at something with trunking capability, or at least spend the extra $$ to get APCO-25 in your PR1500.

Even if trunking doesn't spread as far south as you guys, P25 conventional is still a possibility. Allegedly, P25 will eventually go systemwide on the UP, with trunking used in hub areas and conventional for the road channels. Also, you'll want to take into consideration the new 7.5 kHz "splinter" railroad frequencies.

Any information, model number, or literature on the MT1500's w/ a display? All I saw of them were Model I type radios w/ no display.....

Model 1.5 has a display.12 character by 4 line.No front keys.
The models are
H67KKD9PW5 highband
H67QDD9PW5 UHF low
H67SDDP5W5 UHF high
H67UCD9PW5 800mhz

Another of what seems many enhancements recently made in the portable portfolio.

Does any one know where I can find some more information on the MT1500 with display. A google search and even looking around /\/\ site has yielded nothing. Is the display only on trunking models or conventional too?

I stand corrected, as of now the PR1500 has 32 channels!! I had 3 zones filled, but zones 2 & 3 have 6 channels only.

Yes the QCII option is available as a no charge firmware upgrade to Version 9, and it work great.

The P25 upgrade is also available $400.00 at the depot. Sent both of my radios in and they took about a week from Depot at least these upgrades are still being done in Elgin.

The visual scan indicater is still out there. Latest reports are that it a "low priority upgrade" with no firm time period. At least Big M has agreed to do it.
