Does anyone know if Motorola manfacutres any other UHF antenna other than the standard whip and stubby? I'm looking for the Saber UHF whip type which are longer and seems to give me better range..
Thanks

In regards to Jedi antennas, other than the stock antenna that covers 403-470Mhz. There is one thats a little more narrow: #8505644V05 which covers 435-470Mhz. and is 3" long... In the Phoenix areas & other major cities we find it works very well...it should have a green base on the connector...

Kinda strange with the Jedi's, compared to the Saber/MT1000 antenna's.
The Jedi UHF whip is quite a bit shorter while the Jedi VHF helicals are longer. ?
Far as the Saber antenna receiving better I think it's more a function of the radio itself. Sabers are a lot more sensitive than the Jedi's in general.
Probably has a lot to do with the approx. 30 MHz bandwith of the Saber vs. about 70 for the Jedi (in UHF). But sure, more metal in the air usually does a better job.
