MOTOROLA P25 XTS4000

Post by Cipher77 »

I'm sure someone's posted this already but if it hasen't been, here's something cool

Subject: MOTOROLA P25 XTS4000 OPERATING MANUAL

https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/form ... or_pdf=pdf

THIS IS NICE. THE OWNERS MANUAL FOR THE XTS4000 COVERT RADIO.

THE FEDS MUST HAVE DREAMED UP THIS ONE. AN ASTRO SABER INSIDE an i930 like body. And VHF only.

It was addressed here initially: http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?t=67946

I worry that, due to the timing (April 2), I wasn't the only one that initially thought it was an April Fool's joke.

The rumor is that you're exactly right in that the Feds had it made, and that it's probably going to be like an SSE5000, where it's tailor-made for one client and no one else can get them. (I'd love to be wrong!)

Well I'll be damned. A friend of mine that works for the department of agriculture told me he heard they were making a phone/radio inbreed like that but told him "yea right". Will wonders never cease.

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"

On the last page the display say's TETRA, so the question remains will this be made to operate in 3600 systems or P25 and what bands?

P25, VHF, and it uses regular CPS for the 5K.

Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

well got to play with one today. it had 9.05.xx firmware, DES-OFB, DES-XL, AES-256 in it, did not show the flashcode when put in to test mode. this had to be a preproduction unit since it had no sticker with model , serial number or FCC type aproval on it, that and the fact the it had an ABC123 serial number when you put it in service mode, good sound out of it and loud speaker, little bigger and heavier than most flip cell phones these days but huge difference from a 5000 .

The MMI is so close to Motorola's TETRA terminals that they just stole the artwork out of documentation from TETRA terminals, by the looks.
