Quantar HELP!!!

Post by glock318 »

Hello

First off I wanted to tell you guys yall are the best! Im only 21 and have been into radios since i was little so ever since I have been able to work i have been spending my $$ on radio stuff. I built a 220ft Rhon 44g tower on the highest point within 100miles and Im currently (Licensed- Commerical)using a tkr-750 5ow @ 50% with a duplexer and a 4bay vhf dipole and commscope 7/8 hardline. Well I decided that i was not getting enought range so I came across a vhf range 2 quantar and nice set of duplexers, I cost me a arm and leg but i got it. (BTW there is no Moto dealer around here, only one is private 4 the citys 800system) Well with that said I have no Idea how to program a quantar, I have the ver 10.rss and played around it ( i can do all moto mobiles but im not really familiar with there repeaters) Kenwood is s much easier, So I saved the codeplug and started to work with it a little and got the a test set of channels and tried to test it well it didnt work and the rx fail light came on and i can transmit on the portable and hear it on the quantar but it will not repeat. I went to pull up the old code plug and now i cant seem to find it :-(. So thats where i need yall :-D I am goin to post a link to my codeplug and was goin to see if anybody can take a lok at it and possible help me out. I know it wil need tuning and also the duplexers and that I will need to go through the process of upgrading my license to 125w fb2 instead of 50...more $$ soo....
With all that said the quantar came with a SAM and I have no need for it. All i want to do with the repeater is a conv vhf fb2. So if anybody is in need of a sam and mabye has the time to help me out...I think the sam run about 1k I dont know how much anybody on here will charge to tune my repeater and duplexer and have it ready to work but if anybody is willing please pm me just reply...If the sam is not worth that then sombody please let me know so i dont feel stupid :-P.....thanks 4 readin my long problem....heres the link

If the RX is failing chances are its out of lock.
Did you change anything on the config screen (F2) like the frequency range.
If so that would be the culprit.
Have a look at the reciever part number and post it as well as what frequency you are trying to use.
Probably worth doing the same with the tx.
I can look at it in version 14 later

Had a look at the code plug,
Change the ANALOG RPTR ACCESS MDC/TONE to NONE

But I still think theres a funny range.
Post the exiter and the reciever part numbers and we will see.
Remember the hardware screen lets you change anything but it wont work if the hardware aint the same.

Below is the report generated by 14.02.01
Got to love that part of the windows version.

TFD6512A ( this is not the rxer part number)
PRESELECTOR HIGH BAND R2

X131AB is an option number, not a part number.

look at the above post for what sort of numbers you should be looking at
