35 watt maxtracs 800mhz

Post by mtxman »

Hey guys, i just converted some 35watt maxtracs 800mhz for repeater use with a raider controller. i have it working fine. i was wondering is it possible, by changing the power output transistor, or some other methood, to get a little more power out of these units? 45 watts would be nice, i am running fans on the heat sink. any ideas? thanks.

What you can't do with 35W you aren't gonna do with 45W, and if you are able to make 45W with the RSS tuning they're not gonna last a long time before the PAs fry.

To make a 3db increase youd need 70w anyways to get something noticable by the users.

35 watt maxtracs

i cant get more than 35 watts out of these no matter what. i am going to run these at 1400 ft on a 5 channel combiner with 1 mhz spacing. i was worried about combiner loss, and with a 20 ft. run to the transmit antenna i was trying to get a little more power to the antenna. thanks.
