2007 Police Interceptor Horn Ring Wire

Post by jmr061 »

I figure since there are some professional installers in the group I would ask about the 2007 Ford Police Interceptor horn ring wire here. Im doing a complete squad install and it was not ordered with the optional extra horn ring harness. In the older cars I always spliced into the horn ring wire in the harness below the glove box. I recall it being a dark blue wire. Well I'm looking in the same area on this 07 and don't see that one and figured instead of probing around with a DVM I would ask here on the group in case anyone would know the answer. Anyone know where a good spot is to splice into the horn ring?

Thanks

That wire is on the driver side now, the easiest way to get it (the first time), is to pull the heater controls, you can then see where the factory has taped the wire in place with electrical tape. It is the same connector, wire color/size, etc. It's just on the driver side now. :x

Even though the horn/siren wiring is an option, it is not available as it was in 2006, although there is still a $40 charge and they tell you "you got what you paid for", it really pisses me off that I had to prove that they were wrong. All we had to go by was the previos years available options that were available, and that was the response?? Supposedly.... Ford will now make it right...... we'll see, otherwise te P.O. will be getting a call.

I think I will spec police package Tahoe's next year.

I didn't have this info when I replied last night, the part # for the 2006 jumper harness that will plug into the 2007, but is not available, even if/when you pay for it, is as follows...................
