Saber Guts Swap, Possible?

ok, heres the situation, a friend of mine has two sabers, one model I UHFT bandsplit, and a Model III that has the 440-470 bandsplit... can they swap the guts to ahve the model III do the UHFT, and the Model I with the lower band split?

what would be involved?

Swap the front shields between the radios, as well as the
cases of course. Reload each radio with the correct RSS
and you're done. Unplugging the shields is easy; getting them
reconnected is tedious but can be done if you go slow, have
good eyes (or a magnifier), and patience. Be sure to keep
the tuning values that are already in each radio when you
reload the radios.
There are no tuning values in the shields,
which only control upper memory, speaker and mic in the Saber 3,
and speaker and mic only in the Saber 1.
