Need Low Band VHF Digital Astro Programmed in Toronto

Post by MEGA14 »

A have aquired a low band VHF Motorola Astro Digital scanner and I can't find anyone capable of programming it with OPP (Ontario Provincial Police ) frequencies. At present , I am using Uniden 796's and am tired of the quality of the transmissions .

If there is anyone in the Toronto or surrounding areas that can do the job , please leave me a message .

Thanks

He is talking about a low split VHF, not low band.

So that's what that was about? Do alot of people here just take shots at people for making mistakes or is this individual "special"?

I thought maybe I broke a rule and posted the wrong thing or in the wrong place.

Anyhow, maybe someone can help me find someone to do this?

Appreciated.

There's also a scanner list on yahoogroups for Ontario as well. I'm not on it, but I know it's around, called something like "scan_ontario" or something similar. I don't know if anyone on there would be able to help you but it's my guess there's a lot more members from Ontario on there than there is on here.

I think the biggest problem he has to overcome, if you're not familiar, the OPP aka Fleetnet, is a trunked system.

MEGA14,

Programming a trunked radio system into a full blown radio, without being authorized to do so, may leave you open to civil or criminal liabilities, depending on your local or provincial laws. Inquiring about it on a public message board just compounds the situation. Don't think for a minute that just because you post in a quiet corner of the internet it has no chance of getting back to the people that actually run the system.

This is one of the reasons why by and large around here the advice is to stick to a scanner.
