HT-1000 Problems

Post by MPDREO »

I have been having a problem with an HT-1000 I issued to an Officer for some time now. I have actually wrote about it here before. It has receiving problems and has been an on-going issue. It is now back at the depot for the 4th time in six months. Everytime it comes back it will work for a day to a week then start having the same problem again. I am now trying to figure out what if anything the person that this radio is issued to could be doing to cause this. If anyone has any ideas on what a person could do to cause this same failure repeatedly let me know.

Also, has anyone ever heard of a Nextel causing a problem with a portable if they are worn on a belt side by side? The portable is a UHF 470-520MHz HT-1000 "D" model.

being that craptel interferes with anything (even the fillings of teeth LOL) it wouldn't surprise me...but I think there is something else here...what specific RX problems are you having?

It will be working fine, then you start to receive a transmission and it receives for a second then gets garbled and stops receiving all together. It will still transmit OK. Then if you turn it off and back on it will work again for a few seconds and do the same thing.

Give him a different radio. If it still happens then its him. Use the radio yourself and see if its still happening.
