I have 3 different size original Motorola MX thread antenna's all have the 151-162mhz black color marking on the ends One is 5" one is 6" the other is 7". I checked my blue marked one and its 5 1/2" that is 162-174mhz... They are all the original smooth body ones for saber/MX radios.
Different vendor? different part? for a different radio?

Re: MX thread antenna question?
Hard to say without a pic. By MX are you talking the export version of the Sabers or the MX300 series ?
If the latter while they share the same thread the style is different. By smooth your meaning the injection molded type vs. helical PVC dipped ?

The blue dot antenna is for 157-174 MHZ (BOS band) and original too.

Its the injected. The same ones used on the saber MT1000/ HT600. I found it strange that they were all the same band split but were all different lengths.

Re: MX thread antenna question?
I've noticed up to a 1/2" difference and they were from the same batch. I'd bet just sloppiness at the manufacturers end.
