Download CPS from Motorola Site after Buying

Post by ke5fgc »

I was told that after I purchased the CPS for my radio from motorola, that i would immediatly be able to download the software while my CD was on its way. Is this the case?

If so, how long does it take for Moto to process the order. I ordered at about 2pm and now its 9pm and the order still says "in process"

thanks

Sometimes orders show up on MOL as pending - meanwhile, you already have what you ordered.

From what I remember seeing, you order the software, but until they release an update, you need to call them up and express interest in having your account updated to have online access. I believe online access is only granted when they release an update of the version, and a DB query is initiated to see who to push the update out to.

You also won't have all of the files (specifically "Help" files and "slide shows") that are included on the disk. It's best to wait and install the disk and then the updates. The software will work, but some help files may not be available.

Every single time that I've ordered software from them, I had to call and have them add it to my account. I'm not sure why it isn't automatic especially since the orders were generated via MOL.

Yes, you have to call and have the MOL team add the software to your resource center.

You can ask to have it added as soon as the order has been booked, however once it is added they mark the invoice as non-returnable and you cannot return the software under any circumstances (for obvious reasons).

They can usually do it over the phone and will have you log out and log back in once it has been completed.
