Install of 07 F-250

Post by fire_master_21 »

I will be ordering a new truck before the end of the month. I know it will be a crew cab 4x4 diesel. beyond that I haven't given much thought to what else I want inside the truck. Here's the question part. Anyone have any pic's, tricks, hints that you have come along doing your installs in these trucks?
Here's what I have to install.
High power AS W4
High power MCS2000
and maybe a dual band hammy rig.

Ordering? You won't be ordering an '07... you'd be getting an '08 with the new 6.4 diesel, which has a completely different interior.

Personally, I run a 30-inch Havis Consolidator console in mine along with a mount for the MW800 display. Lighting package is 100% Whelen.

Well I am not sure on that. You can still build an 07 online. I guess I should have said in the worst case I will be ordering unless I can find one on a lot with everything I want on it already. You have any pic's of yours?

'07s are gone. No more ordering them. There aren't even that many left on the lots.

I don't have many pix of the completed build, but:

I hope you own stock in M with how many spectras you have there.

So...in the picture you had room for another three or four radios - I'm sure you couldn't possibly have left empty space!

Nope... BCD996T for a throwdown scanner and two more Kenwood x180s (county-issued VHF, low-split UHF for amateur, high-split UHF for LTR).

Ditto on the 6.0... ditto on the Duramax. That's becoming pretty much standard practice these days. It makes life a whole lot easier for the tech... a bit harder for us radio guys.

You can use this in an article about interoperability. When I saw the first console picture I was wondering what everything on the side of the console was, now I realize they're speakers. Any way we can see a shot of the antenna farm? And are all of those remote heads? I would think it would be easier to have them all in-console. It'll be interesting to see everything installed with the laptop.

All remote. In-console makes the console massively heavy (hard to mount and keep from vibrating) and requires the radios to stick up more for cable clearance/connector clearance. The only thing one-piece in that console is the Maxtrac and the BCD996T.
