Centracom II+ EEPROM Installed but not fully working.
I have decided the best way to reprogram my new EEPROMs is to use a burner that is compatible with Series2 RSS. Can anyone tell me where I can find one that will work directly with the RSS? I think the RS232 card is just not going to work for me. I copied the old EPROM to an EEPROM successfully with 3rd party burner, but it doesn't work with RSS.

The CCII+ RSS works with several programmers including the Data I/O 22, 29A, 29B as well as units from Logical Devices such as the PromPro8X and the Shooter.
The units from Logical devices were less expensive and relatively easier to set up and use. Sometimes they show up on ebay for just a few bucks.
The Logical Devices company is still in business. You could contact them to see if they have an afordable programmer that is compatible with the serial protocol that the Shooter used.
Another thought might be to see if you could hook a second computer up to the serial port of the computer running the RSS. Tell the RSS that you are using a Shooter. Load a simple communications program on the second computer. Set it to capture data to a file. When you then tell the RSS to 'burn' a new PROM it will first send a memory image to the programmer in Motorola S-record format, then it will issue a program command. You should be able to edit the capture file to remove the control commands and leave only the raw S-record data.
That data could then be converted into a binary image which you could burn into a PROM using any programmer you have available.

We had a PromPro8X back in the dark ages.
I think you need an old dos machine to go with it though.
