Re: cp040 codeplug password
you should be able to do that if you hex edit the ram on your computer. or an easier way would be to find a different codeplug that don't have a password and just write that to your radio.

Re: cp040 codeplug password
restart your computer so the ram is empty and close out of every other program or messanger running and start the program & read the radio and wait for it to pop up on the screen to ask for a password. while that is up run the winhex and open the ram and you will see in the window everything that is in the memory of your computer, find the motorola cps part and look thru it, the password will be in there somewhere, it could be numbers, letters, anything. when you find it, type it in and it will let you see the codeplug for the radio, then disable the password part.
it may make it easier if you have another good codeplug that you can put a password on that you know what it is and what you are looking for, that way you know what spot to look for on yours?

Re: cp040 codeplug password
excellent.
i don't think that overwriting the codeplug will work, because during the verification that the radio can take a new codeplug, it's still asking for the password.
i'll get hexing now and i will let you know the outcome.

Re: cp040 codeplug password
it should still take another codeplug with the same model number, all it does is verify the model number, not what's in it.
