systems saber (scan and sts/msg) help

Post by MT »

Hi.

I have a couple of questions that I hope some of you can help
me with.

I have some sys saber III, that (when scanning) stops every
second on the actual channel, and gives me white noise
(unsquelched)

second problem. when sending STS and MSG to a console, it shows
only MSG position 1 on the console. ex. if I send STS 5 it shows up
as MSG 1 on the console. (no problem with other radios, only
the sys sabers)

Any ideas?

anyone? :(

A little update regarding the scan problem, The scan stops on every channel in the scanlist
and goes into unsquelched state for about 1 second, then scans to the next channel on
the list and again unsquelches and this goes on.. so the scan function is pretty much useless

This won't be much help, but:

I have a bunch of Systems Sabers, both UHF and VHF, and have never observed such behavior. Something is definitely wrong with the radio.

A lot of secondary market VHF Systems Sabers started life in federal agency service. It may be that yours was de-milled in a destructive way.

Hi.

hm, maybe. Theese problems occur with my 4 ss and also with
my friends ss, that originate from another place.

The "funny" thing about the sts and msg problem is that, between
the ss, it works perfectly. its only the console that shows msg1 all
the time (but not with other radios
