MTS2000 "Codeplug too new"

Post by mr.syntrx »

Got a very nice new MTS2000 Model 1 here, with firmware R06.74, and a serial starting with 466CDE.

When I try reading it with RSS R06.07.00 or CPS R02.00.01, I get "codeplug too new for this application". However, when I read it in that other program everyone knows about, all the fields come up fine, except the codeplug versions in the radio history screen, which give me "????". I can read the radio fine in tuning mode.

When I save the codeplug as you normally would, and open it in ordinary RSS, it loads up fine, with no invalid fields, and a codeplug version of 0009. I have a funny feeling that that field is corrupt in this radio.

As expected, when I change the codeplug version and write it back to the radio, it toolproofs, so I dump my backup s-rec in and bring it back.

Is there any way to change this field, and dump it straight back into the radio, without bringing the wrath of toolproofing down upon myself? I've got a straight dump of the s-record and archive to send to someone if they could help me out.

Thanks

You said you read & saved with the "other" software, then opened the saved archive with normal RSS. Did you try writing the saved codeplug back to the radio with normal RSS? I've used that to get around "Codeplug too new.." on a toolproofed radio before.
