- What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's
Re: HOW TO UPGRADE THE HT1250 LS + FIRMWARE
you don't need the cps to do it, you need to download the newest upgrade tool and run that, it's a stand-alone program specifically for updating the firmware. it will prompt you what to do, which way to flip the switch and when to remove and replace the battery. you will also need the flash adaptor to boot the radio, the adaptor will boot both mobiles and portables.

I never check PM's so don't bother, just email me.
I won't reply to a hotmail, gmail, aol or any other generic free address, if you want me to reply use a real address.
STOP ASKING ME FOR SOFTWARE OR FIRMWARE, I JUST FORWARD ALL OF THE REQUESTS TO THE MODERATORS

Also to add to Jeff's post, you will need an OEM cable (ribless is best), or one with the bootstrap line.

Re: HOW TO UPGRADE THE HT1250 LS + FIRMWARE
I have done NUMEROUS radios lately, what with all the firmware changes that have occurred.
On portables: If going from 01.00 or 01.01 (yes they are still out there) make SURE you have the two most recent upgrades available on MOL. The Waris portable will NOT upgrade from 01.0x to the newest version in one step. You will need to mid step it and then flash with the newest version.
FYI, for MOBILES, this is getting tricky now with the ribless cable for mobiles and the original rib version. If you have never done one and you don't have the ribless mobile cable, call for support, the flashing instructions are WRONG.

Regardless of what the instructions say, if you DO NOT HAVE a ribless mobile programming cable, you must switch the flash adapter to the 'A' position of the radio will not go into bootstrap mode. And getting it INTO bootstrap mode is a matter of timing, and not an exact science. I usually have good luck by pushing the power and going '1-onethousand, 2' and pushing the button again.
Remember that the ONLY way to flash a CDM is either through the rear chassis connector with the moto cable, or the front mike connector with the ribless cable. Your mileage may vary, but those are the most RELIABLE ways to do it.
