Correct prgramming

Post by rankin6 »

When loading 6.8 rss Mtsx-Mts using a windows 98 machine. I have it saved in D system save and C system. when I click on MRSS or Mssxt icon it goes straight to Dos? When I boot in Dos through floppy or restart in Dos I cannot find the file? Can I program the radio right from the sysytem D?

What radios do you own?: Motorola, Icom, Sunair (HF).

Try running the software under true MS-DOS 6.20 or later.

Trying to work with a radio with it running under any sort of simulated DOS window is simply begging for Murphy to mess with you.

Happy tweaking.

In Windows 98 there IS DOS.

To boot into DOS you need to modify your MSDOS.SYS file.
It may be hidden or a system file.
Change the BootGUI= to 0 (zero) instead of a one.
Restart you computer and it comes up in DOS. To go into Windows, type win and press return.......

[Paths]
WinDir=C:\WINDOWS
WinBootDir=C:\WINDOWS
HostWinBootDrv=C

[Options]
BootMulti=1
BootGUI=0 <---- Here is where you change to boot into DOS
;DoubleBuffer=0
Logo=0
Network=1

I have loaded and saved to c drive and can open the program no problem and the window has a MS-Dos promt in the upper corner. But when I restart into DOS I and type differnt paths( C:mrss'mtsx\mtsx.bat) install etc nothing comes up. When I open in D system the program goes into full screen and program opens there as well. But once I restart into DOS I cannot find the program. Any ideal what I am doing wrong?

did you install it originally with windows running? you shouldn't of done it that way. if you installed it from the factory floppy running dos you should be able to start the machine in dos and at the c: just type mtsx and enter.
