I read the radio, added 4 freqs to it then tried to write back to the radio. When I did it made a few extra beeps. I looked at the display and it had the EEPROM CS ERROR. I cannot read or write a codeplug. Anybody have a good codeplug for a CDM 1250 AAM25RHD9AA2AN? Can be sent to [email protected]. Thanks.

I have a clean code plug for that model if you still need it.

This is a problem that Motorola KNEW about for several years. The hardware vendor has been changed and M changed the software in the 6.07 version and forward. If your radio had a firmware version earlier than 5.05.19 you stand a 50/50 chance (or better) of getting the checksum error. The only cure was to upgrade the firmware in the radio to 5.05.19 or newer, (current is 5.05.22) BEFORE YOU PROGRAMMED IT.
If you are VERY lucky, and have a codeplug from BEFORE you changed anything, try programming the radio back, several times if unsuccesful. Some have been able to recover the radio this way. Also, if you have a codeplug saved in something earlier than 6.05, load the earlier software and the older codeplug and try to write back to the radio.
If none of this works, you have bought an all expense paid trip to Mexirola, for a firmware upgrade.
We have made it policy here, to verify and upgrade if necessary, any mobiles that come into the shop for any reason, prior to even touching them for service because of this issue. Simply reading the radio and writing it back with the new version of the software is enough to cause this problem, and M won't do anything about it, except be really apologetic.
