Can I dump a 110w MSF5000 PA in a C24CXB - 7106AT as long as I am not using the internal crappy duplexer system in it?
Is the power supply in all the models the same?

Re: Low power MSF5000 conversion
The short answer is, no you can't...or really it depends upon a few things...
The difference is in the power supply. I want to say 250 watts verses 500 watts for output. The smaller supply is not adequate to run the larger power amp. Okay, let me be specific...the C24 station doesn't have a power amp, hence the smaller power supply. If I remember correctly, the smaller supply would run up to a 45 watt amp. Anything more than that required the larger supply.
Second, chances are you are using a short cabinet for your C24 station. If this is the case, stop now and use a 45 watt amp for this station. If you have the larger cabinet, you can retrofit it for the 500 watt supply. Be advised the power supply mounts are different for the two power supplies. You have to drill out the mounts and move them to allow mating with the power supply.
Another strike against using the smallest cabinet is that you have the physical consideration of leaving a gap between the top of the power amp heat sink and the top of the cabinet so the cabinet lock can fit inside and have room for the pawl to swing. In addition, you won't have room for a fan kit should you need one.
Also be careful regarding the mounting of the power amp in front as they may be different from low power to high power. You may end up moving those mounts as well.
I have modified the larger cabinets successfully with 110 watt PAs and larger power supplies. The smaller ones I simply left as a 45 watt or below station.
Also, there is nothing wrong with the internal duplexer. I have used them successfully for years. They make a nice compact package.
I am mostly asleep here at my desk in philly so if I have rambled incoherently, I have not have enought DMD yet...Or maybe I'll just crash at my desk...
