Antenna Suggestions

Post by JasonL »

It is finally time to start looking for a new antenna for my VHF HT1000. I carry my radio in a holster on my belt and I am in and out of my ambulance all day long so I need something that can take the occaisonal bend and still has decent performance.
Here are the ones I am looking at.

Comtelco
PEXH150 SF
PEXB155 SF

Centurion
EXB155 SF
EXH155 SF

OR just go with the Motorola Factory VHF helical 150-162 Mhz

Any info on your experiences or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

These work great for us.
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

The Centurion antennas work good for us. If you need the extra gain go with the EXH-150-SF. If not the EXB-150-SF will work. I would go with a 150, as the range is 150MHz to 160MHz, the 155 is 155MHz to 165MHz. That is assuming you work at 154 to 156MHz.
