Dodge Charger & radio speaker lead inputs

Post by EVModules »

Folks,

Has anyone wired the radio speakers into the 3-pin connector on the Dodge Chargers? I'm about to do one soon and was wondering if anyone had no problems with this type of connections. Would joining the common wires from the speakers together say the two (-)'s on the common input terminal and putting the respective positive leads on the other two positive terminals be alright? I wish they'd provide seperate speaker leads to each of the two radios rather than just the 3-wire arrangement.

If no one's attempted it, how can I try the setup without damaging the audio circuitry? Polyfuses or?

1:1 isolation transformers. If you end up with a radio that floats (Spectra, XTL, etc.) and you tie it together with another radio that has one side grounded... poof goes the audio amp. Drop a transformer on each speaker lead (total of four), tie the output of two together for the common.

Tvsjr,

Could you reccomend me what kind of 1:1 isolation transformers? I looked but wasn't sure which to get...
