XTS3000

Post by ben0512 »

I am looking if some of the more experienced members could fill me in on this radio. Its an XTS3000 model 3 450-520 with the following features:

model Number: H09SDH9PW7AN
firmware ver: CP_R03.30.00
DSP Ver: N05.00.23
codeplug ver: 000A
channel Capacity:255
flashcode:540008-000000-7

I am interested in buying it, and its a decent price, but was wondering if anyone had any info based on the above that would make me not want to buy the radio (would prefer not to get scammed out of a couple of hundred dollars).

Thanks in advance.

What radios do you own?: XTS5000, APX2000

It looks decent. Do you know if the tags on the case match the radio? I would think they would. It has a legit flash, not a "whore" code. The first thing I would do if I were buying this, is to spend the $75 or so and get the firmware/DSP upgraded to the latest (around 7.71/8.03 respectively). That shouldn't be a problem if the radio has legit tags, everything matches up, and it's not reported as stolen to Motorola. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I am assuming I can send the radio to my Moto dealer for the upgrade. What would this upgrade do for the radio? Anything new or is it just to keep the radio up to date?

It's a VSELP radio.

The existing firmware / host may be near the latest there was for VSELP.

To upgrade to IMBE and the latest firmware will be a lot more than $75.00.

If you just want to use it as an analog rado, it's fine the way it is.

VSELP simply means this is a hacked radio of some sort. You have a IMBE Flashcode with VSELP firmware. VSELP is a older Motorola Digital format that is not compatible with IMBE.

Just a FYI just becuase you have a radio with a Non-whore flash, does not mean that it is not a NICK radio, or a parts built radio, or simply a radio that someone Frakenflashed. If you use the search feature you can find all of this explained in much more detail in older posts.

Now chances are if you bought this radio you could have the firmware upgraded by someone, but it would not be through official channels as a MSS would immediatly notice that the firmware was much older than the flash in the radio and most likely would not touch the radio.

Hope this helps answer some of your questions....

Yes this answers most of my questions. Thanks everyone for the helpful replies. Basically, since I need it for analog and digital IMBE i should not get this radio... Thanks again
