XTL 5000 programing

Post by rangerfourever »

Have not worked with this tier of radio before. We have 1 XTL 5000 VHF mobile that needs to have two frequencies added for control station use. Does the XTL 5000 use model specific software for programing? I hope to have our Motorola tech in on Thursday to do the work, last time he tried to program our Astro Spectras with Astro Spectra Plus software and it did not work. I need to lead him by the hand to the right software etc.

Thanks

Astro Spectra has its own software.

Astro Spectra Plus uses Astro25 Mobile software (same as the XTL series)

Spectra Plus is an odd duck, just like the XTS3500. They were only produced for a VERY short period of time before they transitioned to the newer line of radios
(Spectra Plus -> XTL and XTS3500-> XTS5000). Neither one is very common and that is probably why they are having issues knowing exactly what is going on with them.
