HT1250LS Programming Hardware

Post by Mactrekr »

Hi Ya'll,

We're a very poor non-profit, we use 2 ht1250ls+ radios on a passport trunking system, I recently dropped my own money on a used HT1250LS and a programming cable off of ebay. I have CPS v.3.00.01, and have a couple of questions. First, do I need a Rib? adapter? Second, is this version of CPS even able to read/write the HT1250LS(+), Third, what is this error I keep getting; "Image has a block with absBlkID 39, but the layout does not have this block"? I really want to be able in coms, I'm a ham radio amature license holder and am really interested in getting this HT1250LS to work. Any thoughts or help would be most appreciated.

Howdy do,

First off R03.00.01 is very old. Did you get it direct from motorola :) :) I know......................................

Anyway thats the same message I got when i read a code plug that was a higher version of the RSS. You radio might be a high version then the cps/rss you have. Thats the problem. Go onto http://www.codeplugsupersite.com and get a older HT1250ls or ls+ code plug and try to save it as archive and try to read it. If it works then try to write it to your radio.

What kind of cable is it? Rib.....Ribless
IDK?

I got every codeplug I could find for the HT1250 series radios on codeplugsupersite.com, and none of them seem to work. I'm actually borrowing a laptop from a friend who worked for a motorola affilate and the CPS software is on that. I'm not about to bring down the wrath of the Moto Gods. The cable I have is a 9pin ribless. I popped open the serial connector and it appears to have the TTL converter hardware in the head. I bought it off of ebay, so who knows if it's worth a crap. Is there anyway to modify a codeplug? When I bring up the codeplug in CPS, it shows a different serial number and model number than my HT1250ls. Could that be the problem?

Thanks for helping out a poor newbie geek!

Are you looking to use this radio on the Passport system that your are using now with your other 2 radios?

If so you will need the system administrator to generate a MIN for your new radio and possible add your ESN number depending on whether or not they use ESN validation on that group.

Also the Passport CPS you will need to use depends on the version of Passport firmware that is in your radio.

As stated by dispatcher, your Professional CPS will also need to be upgrade to read the radio.

OTAY,!

I just got the latest CPS software directly from Motorola. (Being a non-profit is nice sometimes). So, forget the HT1250LS for a bit and now I'm just trying to get the HT1250LS+ to even read. It's giving me a "Type Mismatch" Runtime error 13 when I try to read the radio? Any ideas why I just spent a bundle on this software and now it's not even reading my radio?

Well lets get this out of the way. What is the Model number on the radio. That will help determine your exact radio. It could be possible that there is a forced codeplug in there and could cause an error but that can be looked into later.

Dont upload the codeplug you have to the radio. Read the radio first save the codeplug and make a backup copy of it.
