Next logical step would be to pop the cover off and make sure the front cover flex is fully seated into the top board connector or if you have another HT1000 a front cover swap.

You get the power up tone so the audio amp and speaker work, you get a red LED on receive, so it's detecting a signal, sounds like it's just not unmuting on receive, can you run the squelch with the monitor button?

I wonder if the radio didn't suffer a controller glitch and hosed the codeplug data, and possibly the squelch setting in the service menu.

I just had a MTS2000 in 900 that had no RX audio and when I placed it in the service mode, the squelch setting was jacked up to max and nothing would open the receiver....it was too tight.

I'd recommend a realignment and check the codeplug for errors.

open a stored codeplug for the radio and write that to the radio and see what it does

Depending on the channel spacing, you may need to access the service menu and see where the bandpass filters are tuned..

They may be out of alignment and the radio is indicating it's receiving, but not the frequency you think it is....which can cause deafness and no audio as well (due to lack of good RSSI sampling levels).

I've had similar problems with my HT1000's. This post might help.

I bought the HT1000 from the OP in this thread a couple of weeks ago. I programmed it properly the day it arrived in the mail and it's worked flawlessly ever since.

Same minor issue you described, and same simple solution in your link above.

I just purchased it for parts, but it turned out to be one of my best Motorola bargains ever! 8)
