800 MHz HT1000 RSS ver. required ?
Hi all,
Just picked up a 'D' version HT1000 800 MHz conventional off EBay (which might be the problem in itself). When read with R03.03.00 it does not recognize the model # Works A-OK with 'D' ver UHF and VHF radios so the question I have does anyone know if the 800 MHz version requires a later version RSS than UHF/VHF radios ?
Thanks !

Should work fine - no different software needed/required.
I have several of those radios in service.

How certain are you the controller wasn't replaced with something else, like an MTSX?
Re: 800 MHz HT1000 RSS ver. required ?
How certain are you that it's not an MTX8000 with an HT1000 sticker on it? In that case you'll need MTSX RSS.

Externally has HT1000 sticker on front and chassis sticker is proper so nothing screamed 'hack' although it is certainly possible. Thought I'd check in before getting out the clam knife as I never had my hands on a 800 MHz HT1000 before and considered the possibility that the 800 MHz model definition file might have been added at some time different in the RSS rev. lineup than VHF/UHF models.

And just noticed I posted this in the wrong column, doh.

For what it is worth, I've never heard of an 800 HT1000. I have seen 16 channel, no display, 800 MT2000s, which otherwise look like an HT1000, but are quite different internally (and, as someone else noted, require an entirely different RSS package).

They do indeed exist although they are a very rare find.RKG wrote:For what it is worth, I've never heard of an 800 HT1000.

Talking about strange Jedis's, I have seen stacks of MTS2000's with no display at all. Yes, actual MTS2000's!!!RKG wrote:For what it is worth, I've never heard of an 800 HT1000. A related problem here..
I just received an HT1000, so sayeth the case, a H01UCC6AA3DN. I read it in 3.0 RSS and it all came up with 16 conventional 800 channels. I went back and loaded an MTSX codeplug for a B5 Jedi into the HT by mistake. I got a VERY FAINT sound from the radio then nothing at all. It's dead. Attempts to reinsert the copy of the codeplug as received have failed?
Now, I'm not sure whether I have an HT1000 or a Jedi, but I can't get it to do anything. Did I murder the radio by inserting a wrong codeplug I don't know what to try next.
Any ideas ?

Re: 800 MHz HT1000 RSS ver. required ?
HT1000 and MTS/X have different size controllers, so yah I'd say the outcome is not promising. Can you still read/write with MTSX lab? If so, change the model# and serial# back to HT1000 original, write that in, then open HT1000 RSS and try to write the orig codeplug back.

Thanks, will do, but it's been every so stubborn so far.
