MT1000 scan channel lock-out option

Post by Pat »

I see an option for scan channel lock-out in the RSS but the help file isn't too informative about it. Should this be enabled or disabled? I have a group of 12 radios and it's enabled on some and disabled on others.

Thanks,

If it is enabled, scan skips that channel if the PL on a received signal does not match the programmed PL. It usually is not a big deal unless you have a channel like a community repeater with a lot of traffic from other users with different PL tones.

Thanks for the reply.

So if this option is disabled and the radio is receiving a signal with incorrect PL it just pauses on the channel until the carrier drops, correct?

I'm assuming this should probably be enabled then?

I am not sure it pauses until the carrier drops or it just slows down the scan. I have never really played with it to find out.

I usually enable it when programming a radio since I can't think of a reason not to.
