I bought a Spectra to modify for 900 this past weekend at the hamfest. I opened it up to check everything out, and there are two solder blobs that look a bit odd. Almost looks like flux to me. The board ( not sure the exact name of the board) is where the RX connector comes off the pa and into the back of the radio. The two connections that are affected are a coax line that leaves through the front of the radio and goes around the control head and back in, and one other coax connector ( can't remember off hand where it went). I know these are prone to leaky caps, but I saw nothing else that looked out of place, and there didn't appear to be any caps in the area of these two connections. Any ideas? Lastly, anyone know a good source for the 15 pin connector for the back so I can make up a jumper and a programming cable?
Thanks, Ryan

Re: Spectra Questions
The board you're referring to is the receive prefilter. It has no "LeakMaster" electrolytic caps on it, obviously.
I'm not understanding your question.. is there a problem with the radio that you think is caused by bad soldering?
The accessory connector is a standard run-of-the-mill DB-15, available at most any electronics part store up to and including Radio Shack. If you have a Motorola accessory connector for the speaker and ignition sense connections, you can recycle the plastic housing from it and drop a new connector in with all 15 pins populated.

Re: Spectra Questions
So far no problems with it, it powers up and appears everything is working, I was just curious if I was going to have any problems caused by those two connections. I work at RadioShack here and wasn't able to locate any of the connectors. Unfortunately there was no accessory connector included, I rigged my own jumpers temporarily to get the radio on.
