The Quantar has a limited community repeater function.

You can program up to X tones (about a dozen from memory, maybe 16).

Only one can be a DPL.

Each tone can be set as "active" (repeater responds), "inactive" (repeater does not respond) or "gated". The repeater will respond to "gated" tones only when an auxiliary input or TRC command is active; a way to turn a tone on and off via hardware or wireline.

Split tones and split formats are OK (except only one DPL). Crossed tones are OK.

When done with multiple tones, only one RF channel can be programmed.

Most folks opt to install an external controller. The preferred board is the Zetron 38 or 38M (you need the M if you are going to run wireline control also). Hookup is fairly simple. Program the station as a base (vs. repeater) and CSQ. There is also some audio re-routing that has to be done via wildcard commands; these are nicely spelled out in the "Applications" section at the end of the Quantar maintenance manual, except that the condition on the setup table should be "Cold Start or Warm Start".

I would like to tie the outgoing PL tone to the COR on a Quantar.

Wondering if there is any way to inhibit the out going tone (PL/DPL) through external logic (mike a Maxtrac) ?

It sounds like you are trying to create a hammy type Mexican reverse burst [AKA Chicken burst] - i.e. hang time with no PL.

You should be able to do that on the Quantar without any external logic. Simply create a wildcard action table which uses one of the receiver "states" such as "RPTR QUAL MET" or "RX CAR DET" and the "actions" "TX PL DISABLE" and "TX PL ENABLE" for the inactive and active conditions.

Thanks, I look into that, I was thinking there might be a way in programming to do it.
