I need assistance in setting up a HT1000 VHF for QCII. Trying to following the manual got sort of confusing.
Will be using 1 of the 16 channels. Freq is 154.430 RX 107.2
153.965 TX 186.2
Tone A 386.6 B 473.2
Not clear on setting to QCII only or use with TPL????? Also, setting to OR/AND?????

Re: HT1000 QCII Programming
1. I usually make QC channels RX only; this forces the user to go back to the dispatch channel to communicate with Fire Alarm.
2. Whether the console sends PL with the QC tones or not is a matter of console programming. You have to know how the console is programmed, and then set your HT accordingly. This is done in the "Receive Squelch" field of the Channel screen. If PL is required, select "PL/Quik-Call II" and then specify the Rx PL. If no PL is required, select "Quik-Call II" by itself, and no Rx PL field will appear.
3. Now go to the "Channel Options" sub-screen. If you want the radio to unmute only on QC (and not hear regular dispatch traffic), select "AND." If you want it to hear both, select "OR."
4. Finally, back to the QC sub-screen of the signalling screen and go to the "Auto Reset" field. If enabled, the radio will enter the channel in the muted condition (if "AND" unmute has been selected per above) and will revert to muted condition when the timer expires. If disabled, then the radio will unmute to all traffic once a QC alert has been received, until manually re-muted. In this case, one side button must be programmed as "Monitor," and pressing it will in QC-unmuted mode will reset the radio into QC muted mode.
5. The length of the auto reset timer is set in "System Configuration" under "Radio Configuration."

Re: HT1000 QCII Programming
**MOST** of the the time, PL/DPL is transmitted along with paging tones. However, rest assured if I tell you to just program the PL/DPL, you will be the 2% that strips it for paging. It is really easy to tell though. If you have a scanner or two way radio with PL already programmed in it and you can hear the tones, then you're tones are going out with PL/DPL.
