Waiting On approval from Motorola

Post by HCSO96 »

I have recently applied for the right to purchase software from Motorola. Is there a set waiting period in order to be accepted. I did set up and account with MOl and they did send me a PDF file with their rules governing software. I spoke with CS at motorola and they informed me that I would get an email confirmation. That was a week ago. This stuff is all new to me, so if I am asking a stupid question, please bear with me

If you do the signing online (which I believe is what Motorola is doing now), it shouldn't take a week before you are able to order software. That was about a year ago since I did that, call them up and find out if there is a problem or not.

I am not in a big rush for approval. I should have started the process 10 years ago, but never bothered with it. I have always just made the 70 mile round trip for any programming needs. Now a days with the radios getting more "fancy' , the programming is getting more complicated. Its getting more and more difficult to get the radios programmed correctly, without having to return them to the dealer. It's all basically conveience. I have a fleet of radios that range from, maratracs to maxtracs and portables that range from ht 600's to Ht 750s plus about 10 other od wads in between.....slowly we are depleating them from the fleet, but its a slow process and we are making due with what we have.

Here'a a couple of my postings from annthor website on my Motorola Experience....

it took me three weeks from setting up a account to getting approved..I made 8 calls to M and it was always the same crap, "well the girl that handles legal is out of the office and will call or email you back....2 days later, I called back same thing, 2 days later called same thing .....all the while i was assigned a case # too...And this was all just to get approval to buy RSS, the other accesssories I was good to go..LMAO...Finally after 3 weeks XTS/XTL CPS Version 10 is in my Hand Via UPS...LOL
And whats up with the Piss Poor big M WebSite?? A freaking child could have designed a order page that is better...LMMFAO
Yea I applied on line, but got the Legal is really backed up excuse once, and the computerized Acrobat PDF legal agreement took time to match up, at least what I was told by the customer service rep....They are really nice I must say, just slow....They offered to take my order for CPS by phone but I really wanted the online experience....should just ordered on the damn phone....LOL Big M's order page is terrible all the verify and other junk not needed on a order page is just too much....They need to simply things...I just don't care for that order page at all....Maybe I'm just a spoiled online shopper...LMAO
Anyhoo life is good now that the CPS is in my hands....

Thanks,
Joe

The best thing to do is call Motorla direct and they will give you all the information that you need.

Thanks for the help. I setup the account and signed the agreement (took from friday to monday). For some reason, signing the agreement didn't generate the support case that it was supposed to. I should be setup today.

Thanks again,
Joe

I got my account finally setup last night. What a pain, too many departments that the setup process has to go thru. In the end, there was someone named Dan in the phone order department that bent over backward to make sure my account was setup. He went so far as to call me back on a conference call with the shipping department to make sure the CPS was shipped out properly and that I had access to download the CPS.
