Alert Tone Removal from X9000

Where in the codeplug do I find out how to remove the alert tone from the PTT of an X9000? I have checked everywhere and tried everything. Help

Under the MDC settings menu, there should be an option for "PTT Sidetone" or something similar. That should do it, I think. I know there were several MDC boards and MDC firmware chips that did different things, and overrided some RSS settings.

If your not using MDC at all, just take the board out...or set it to POST PTT, and your all good.

Unless it's a secure X9000 with the internal secure module, in which case you'll want to turn off "Clear TX Alert Tone". I believe I had to pull the board to get rid of it though.

I've had the internal MDC1200 and internal secure, and setting everything to disabled/off, worked fine. There was one oddball MDC board I had that did it no matter what, but it had older MDC firmware on it. Upgrading it to newer firmware, and it went away.
