Feed Audio to Maxtrac from PC.

Does anyone know of a schematic or easy way to feed audio from a PC sound card into the Maxtrac mic jack?

From what I found the soundcard I'm using outputs approx 100mw to 8ohms. I need to get the signal up to 100-300mv at 560ohms for the Maxtrac.

I've been working on it and short of running it through an amp, I'm not quite sure how else to do it. I thought maybe someone here has done it and could share a diagram with me. Perhaps an impedance matching transformer? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The PC should put out plenty of signal, if anything you'd probably have to cut it down some. You could probably just use an 8 to 600 ohm matching transformer, but make sure you put a capacitor in series with the radio side (something like 1 to 10uF), as the mic input has DC voltage on it which the transformer would short out. You might also look into connecting to the accessory jack on the radio if you have the 16pin type.

Your sound card should drive the Maxtrac thru a 10uF capacitor, + side twards the radio MIC input just fine. Otherside to ground of course.. The Maxtrac MIC input requires 80 to 120 mV for full modulation.

You can put an 8 to 16 ohm load resistor on the sound card output if the audio is distorted, even with the sound card volume turned down.
