Astro Saber Antenna Stuck

Post by WV8VFD »

Well, I got my antenna for my Astro Saber. (I got the wideband dipole, and it kicks the a** of any other "rubber duck" I got)

Well, I think I screwed something up. I took my antenna off, and I think I got it too tight (I dont think I did) It took the metel ring around the top off. I screwed the antenna back on, and now it won't come off. Any Suggestions?

Thanks

You mean the nut thats screws on the threads came off or was it missing the nut and one of the washers came off? Typically these have a nut, washer, lockwasher and a rubber seal. If you mean the antenna came off with the threaded part still in it then you have a broken antenna switch.

Everything was there, but when I took it off one time, the metal washer with the 4 notches came off with the antenna, and I screwed it back in, but now it is stuck.

If that helps any.

I got it fixed. The top part with the notches came off, then the lockwasher came out, and I screwed it back on. (That was the problem) To fix it I cut off some of the rubber from the antenna, put a point in one of the notches, unscrewed the antenna, unscrewed the nut, put the lockwasher on, and tightened it.

I also fixed the bent pen that kept my speakermic from working :)

Killed 2 birds with one case opening.
