DIU3000 Encryption Mod

I have 15 DIU's all with encryption modules installed, those batteries suck, I am getting error 30's on all of them and they are just installed. I was having problems keying the diu, and then realized I needed to disable key indexing, but now it shows NO ECM on the LCD for one of the DIU's.I am assuming this is the encryption module tamper proof thing. Is there anyway to disable that, like reset it somehow? Also are there error codes, like hardware related for the dius? I have 2 dius that can't be read via the css and are throwing a long code upon startup. Any help would be awesome. Also for just basic encryption use/console use does FIPS need to be enabled? I am just using the diu to interface to an IP-223 and provide encryption, keys are generated each month, so the easier the better for re-keying purposes.
