Syntor X9000 & MDC

Post by Tim »

Hi Folks,

It's time for a memory quiz.

Was trying to turn on the MDC on a VHF X9000, and what I hear the transmitter
doing is sending out a long solid tone, then the MDC tones follow.

Does the X9000 support 'de-key' PTT ID, or only leading?
How do I get rid of the solid tone? In the RSS, I've tried disabling the system
tone but it didn't appear to do anything.

Hardware:
16k head, although only using an 8k code plug.

RSS is 4.00SP05

Do have the MDC decode EPROMS in the radio (perhaps this gives it some
problems).

Thanks,

Tim

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

it all depends on the firmware on the mdc card, mine don't support post id.

Hi HLA,

Thanks for the post. Was kinda curious, as there is no field
in the RSS that would suggest that I had a choice.

I figure it's one of the 1st radios that had MDC, so not all
the options had been thought about!

Still wonder how to get rid of that 1 second tone before the
data stream.
