I'm new to the scene here, it's a very imformative forum to say the least. I have a handfull of Minitor II high bands that I already replaced the crystals and tone filters. They work pretty good, just wondering if tuning them will better their performance. Our department don't get alot of runs, most of them are rescue runs at that. Does something have to be done to these pagers to get them to alert of medical runs when the switch is on the bell? I live 1/4 mile from the station and have to rely on the siren to wake me for the rescue runs. For fire runs, they alert just fine. I see there is tuning info here for the low bands, is it the same as the high bands?
Thanks.

Re: Minitor II Questions
I'm sure they don't need to be tuned so much as you need the right set of tone reeds in the pager. I am assuming you have two separate tone sets: one for FD, one for rescue? If this is the case, the II will only support one "two-tone" (A-B) configuration. If one of your tone sets is a long tone (C) then you could easily do an AB long C configuration.
Re: Minitor II Questions
Crystal replacement normally needs an adjustment of the oscillator. If the frequency change is more than about 1 MHz, realignment is required to maintain sensitivity.
An older pager like that generally benefits from a full realignment if it has not been serviced regularly.

Re: Minitor II Questions
I have 2 filters, 1 for central dispatch, and 1 for the department. The same filters as others use. I wish I could find a list of tones for our county.
