Spectra RF Bd repair HRN6003D

Post by jstigler »

I have several Spectra 450 & 800 RF boards HRN6003 or HRN6010 with a chip resistor R633 82K that has been hot. Some burned the board and the trace. This seems to be a common problem. I really don't see anything on the schematic that would cause this type of current. Perhapes it is a trace onthe multilayer shorted. Any thoughts on repair.

That is NOT burn you see there, and yes it IS a common problem.
The capacitor leakage has eaten the resistor and the circuit board away.

I repair them here...
