XTS5000 Battery Problem?
I have an XTS5000 that I use for work. I have a metal porta-clip that I use to keep the radio from falling off my duty belt. About a week ago, the radio started powering off and then back on again when I put it in and take it out of the clip. When I check the battery, it is securely seated and locked onto the radio like it should be. If I move it around with my hand on the radio, the radio continues to operate. Checking the connections on the battery and radio, they seem to be fine. I'm wondering if anyone else here has had this problem and if so, how did you fix it?

Re: XTS5000 Battery Problem?
i'd start with something simple like using a pencil eraser on both sets of contacts.

Re: XTS5000 Battery Problem?
In reference to your battery problem, there is a field service bulletin out on that specific problem. symptoms will include the power up tone and/or display reset. the problem is with the battery contacts on the radio and battery. the contacts can become pitted where the battery pack rides on the radio power contacts. motorola recommends using a cleanedr pen such as Detoxit gold to clean the radio and battery contacts. if this fails, I would recommend having your local shop replace the radio contacts and seal.
hope this helps,

Thanks guys. I'll give it a try. I would hate to have a dead radio if I needed to call for help.
