astro spectra

Post by towerhand »

I have several astro spectra with the hhch {A3 i believe] controlhead. My chief would like to convert these to A7 heads so that they wil be more user friendly. What is needed to change radio over to these heads and has anyone done it sucessfully?
I would think that the cable, head, interface board would all need to be changed but finding the right numbers might be tough. any thoughts or directions would be great..

A series heads refer to spectras, W series heads refer to astro series heads. Big difference in looks between an A3 and a W3. A W3 head has a display just like an astro saber.

Which one is correct?

You will need new head, remote cable, interface board and an s-record change to complete the change over. Not going to be real cheap but is do-able if you can find used parts or someone willing to trade.
