800mhz Desktrac Receiver

Post by WB4JGI »

Were about to try and setup a 800Mhz repeater and we have a desktrac with the Transmitter but, it is missing the Receiver. How hard is it to find the correct Receiver for this desktrac?
I think the model number is: D05M3A7DA5AK

Or would it just be simpler to make or buy a 800 Receiver that will handle the low end of 800 and put a pl/dpl decoder on it?

Thanks
Stu

You can take a normal 800 maxtrac and do the 902 Ham receiver mod to it. Then program it for 90.2 MHz above your 810 frequency. Probably remove and jumper the filters too.

OK, we tested a normal 800 Maxtrac with the HAM conversion at 902.9 and at 809.8125. It received the same at both freqs. About .3 microvolts got rid of most of the popping.
