Motorola And QuickCall

Post by celltech25 »

I am in search of a device. WE currently have a voting system in our county which has great coverage except for one remote location which is very hilly terrain. What I am in search of is like a zetron Model 19B which would act as a simplex repeater. As pagers inside houses aren't going off in this area. we would like to install a simplex repeater on a small tower in that area jsut for the purpose of paging as once the page is received Mobiles have no toruble with tx or rx.

Zetron No longer makes the model 19b and doesn't have a replacement any one have any suggestions. Midian Makes a PR-1 paging regenarator but all it will do is resend the Quick-Call tones doesn't do anything for voice.

I need the 2 tone and voice playback

Ideas?????

Thanks

Check into Connect Systems, Inc. Universal controller. I have never used one but it sounds like it could be configured to do what you want. Here is a portion of the user guide for the controller.

"GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The FLEX Series Universal Controller SIMPLEX REPEATER by Connect Systems Inc. is an economical controller capable of repeating up to 120 seconds of audio before it repeats the information received.

Using external two tone decoders, the system can not only repeat the voice message, it can also regenerate the same two tone or another two tone using either Motorola or Plectron tones.

To accommodate the many programmable features, the system allows the user to program the system via a telephone plugged in the back of the unit, through the telephone line, over the air, or through a computer.

Powerful built in standard features make the FLEX Series Universal Controller SIMPLEX REPEATER the best deal going in SIMPLEX REPEATERS today!"

Maybe someone else here on the board has some experience with this.

This may sound a little Cheesy but radio shack made a simplex repeater a few years back that plugs into a Portable radio and i got one of those and have been using it to repeat my 2-tone pages in a metal building that has alot of High voltage power lines overhead. Works really well even though the thing came from Rat Shack.

I have exactly what you need.

We have a unit that decodes the page, then when the carrier drops, it keys the local radio and resends the page again.

There is also a momentary and latched relay output for sirens and door latches as well as local page button and local alarm panel inputs.

There is also a version that will replay the voice message as well.
